Increase Your Sales, Profits and Income In 30 Days Using This Clever Goalsetting Hack
Today I want to introduce you to a clever HACK that changes EVERYTHING when it comes to goal setting.
It's probably the most powerful goal setting strategy you'll ever learn.

Today I want to share an incredibly valuable goalsetting hack you've probably NEVER heard before.
I know, I'd never heard it before. And in a prior life, I owned a motivational book and tap store. Now, I didn't think of this hack myself. Following the theme of INTERNET MARKETING BOOK OF SECRETS, I did EXACTLY what I teach.
I borrowed an idea from ANOTHER industry and applied it to mine.
If you've read Book of Secrets, you know I originally got this strategy from Jay Abraham. He credits almost all of his marketing prowess to that one single strategy. And it's the SIMPLEST one in the world.
You simply COMBINE 2 ideas. Creativity = COMBINATIONS.
Last week I had another great conversation with T.J. Rohleder, who has boundless creativity. And what TJ does is deliberately COMBINES ideas. Most of his successful products are the combination of 1 to 3 ideas.
How Basing Your Goals On 3 Month Averages CHANGES EVERYTHING!
I don't ask for you to believe me on this one.
Just try it out. I got the idea from Joe Verde at JoeVerde.com. Joe teaches goal setting to car dealers, owners, managers and sales people. He is the single best teacher of goal setting since Jim Rohn and Zig Ziglar. He credits Zig with teaching him goal setting.
Assume you have the following ebook sales in the last 12 weeks:
Week 1: 9
Week 2: 16
Week 3: 6
Week 4: 25
Week 5: 18
Week 6: 21
Week 7: 13
Week 8: 3
Week 9: 16
Week 10: 17
Week 11: 5
Week 12: 25
Now, if you set your goal for THIS week based on last week, you have a goal that is too high. In the past 12 weeks, you only sold 25 ebooks ONE WEEK! At the same time, if we use the number of sales from 2 weeks ago, it would only be 5! That's artificially low. So here's how you handle it:
Step one: Total up the # of sales for all 12 weeks
In this case, if I did my math right (which is often doubtful!), it's 174
Step two: Divide by 12
That gives us 14.5. Your GOAL this week is either 14 or 15. Take your pick. See how AVERAGING out the last 12 weeks smooths out the lows and the highs. If this were YOU then this next, your goal would be to BEAT 14 sales!
That's a realistic, achievable goal.
Step three: Set a number HIGHER than the average
Since the average is 14, let's say your GOAL is 18 for this week.
Step four: Divide it out by days
If you're working 5 days next week, then your goal is 3.6, call it 4 ebook sales a day.
Step five: Make your PLAN
How are you going to GET your 4 sales a day?
A USEFUL way to do this is to look at how many ebook sales you need ABOVE your average. In this case, your GOAL is 18 and your AVERAGE is 14. That's a difference of 4. You need around ONE additional sale a DAY over and above what you've been averaging. This means your new goal becomes:
How can I get ONE additional SALE per day?
For example, let's say you have your own BOOK on Amazon! Good job. Now, if you've been averaging 14 sales a week and you want to hit 18 THIS week, THEN you need one more Amazon book sale a day. How could you do that?
Here's the problem solving formula SHORT VERSION:
1. Get a yellow pad
2. Get coffee or tea
3. Write the question at the top of the page
“How can I make one additional sale per day of my book on Amazon?”
4. Brainstorm ALL the ideas you can think of
Write down ANY idea that comes to mind, even if it's stupid.
5. Take a break or sleep on it
6. Next day or later that day, read back over your ideas and see which one stands out
7. Follow the 3X rule: If you need ONE sale a day, implement a plan to get THREE sales a day! Double or triple up!
In fact, if you've read the book 10X Rule by Grant Cardone, he'd tell you to implement 10X the things you think or predict it'll take you to get the 1 extra sale a day. We usually UNDERESTIMATE the activity and effort required to reach a goal.
His rule of thumb is put your plan together then do 10X it!
According to Grant, there is virtually NO goal you can't accomplish. You don't need to lower your goals. What there IS, though, is a lack of willingness to extend the activity level required to REACH the goal!
Are you prepared to take 10X action?
I know what you could be thinking, “I want PASSIVE income!” You know, money that just COMES to me! And you know what, passive income DOES exist…AFTER you put in the 10X effort!
You get your lead generation machine assembled.
You get your lead conversion machine assembled.
You get your product or service delivery machine assembled.
THEN you can kick back and let the machine run!
This little HACK of using 3 month averages is REALLY, really powerful. Plus, as I point out in the Profit Planner, which is my tool for implementing 3 month averages and goal setting into your IM business, by doing this, you make a GAME of beating your OWN numbers from the prior week or month!
That adds FUN back into the Game.
It gives you something SPECIFIC to shoot for also.
