Wake Up Whenever You Want. This IS The Internet Lifestyle
I wake up early.
Some days way the heck too early.
But I used to sleep late. Really late.
And I've gotten a lot accomplished either way.
I'll tell you a fact: The older I get, the earlier I wake up. The occasional ache and pain is one reason. Sometimes it's a batheroom trip. I have no idea.
Now, I think with a family, if you work at home, waking up before everyone else allows you to read, brainstorm and writing.
Because once the family wakes up, it's a different ballgame.
So there are practical considerations. That's one reason I wake up early. Sometimes at 3 or 4 a.m. But today I slept until 6 a.m. It annoyed me a bit as I didn't have time to write this blog post in the morning after doing my mindset stuff, journaliing and doing a few morning rituals (like coming up with new product ideas).
When I was young, I got most creative starting at 10 or 11 p.m. I did my best work then. That's not unusual when you study inventors and creative people.
Here's the real point of all this:
DON'T LET ANYONE ELSE TELL YOU HOW TO RUN YOUR BUSINESS, WHAT TIME TO WAKE UP OR ANYTHING ELSE.
The beauty of the Internet lifestyle is it's YOUR CHOICE.
If you freaking love sleeping late, sleep late.
If you're like me and wake up early whether you want to or not, then wake up and get your stuff done.
The REAL thing is NOT what time you wake up.
It's what the heck do you do AFTER you wake up.
Here's something else:
Don't let anyone tell you what music you have to
listen to when you do your Creative thing
I listen to techno music.
It doesn't distract me.
And it gets my brain going.
So when I wake up in the morning, my wife is asleep upstairs. And I'm downstairs with Techno cranking and I'm in my Creative flow.
That's a sacred thing. I created a product about it called the Strange Ritual.
You do you.
Some teachers of the Craft have acquired a God complex. And believe there's a right and wrong way to do everything.
They're whacked.
The same applies to how you run your business.
There is no right or wrong way to run an info product business, coaching business or any other. I know people who have done a million bucks with low ticket products.
Some swear by big tickets alone.
And everything in between.
You do what works for you
Now, don't get me wrong.
I like hearing how other Creators accomplish things and make bank. I usually learn something from what they do or how they do it.
But I'm not them.
I believe STRONGLY in learning from others, so you can avoid as much of the school of hard knocks as you can. And at the same time, I believe STRONGLY in running the business your way.
I enjoy doing lots of products. Low ticket and mid ticket. I do plan to add a high end. But it's not my focus.
That's just me.
Today was messed up.
I woke up late.
Just now writing my blog post at 1:37 p.m.
I planned to have my product launched by 10 a.m. but I still have to hook up the order button.
Routine is good. It helps you get things done.
But find the routine that works for you. Not someone else.
